THE GOVERNING BODY

The Governors at Lee Common School are responsible for overseeing all aspects of school life and duties are increasing each year. They support the Headteacher in her responsibility for the day-to-day running of the school.

The full Governing Body meets at least once every term, and sub-committees meet as necessary. Once a term the Parent Governors hold an Open Forum, giving parents an opportunity to voice concerns, air suggestions and take a constructive part in the running and development of the school. The Governors Report to Parents is published in the summer term, and parents are invited to school to discuss it.

MISSION STATEMENT

"Our aim is to provide a broad base of Christian values which is reflected in the relationships and everyday life of the school. We emphasise the links between our school, the church and the community.

The school aims to serve its community by providing an education of the highest quality within this context of Christian faith and practice.

Building on its historic foundation, the school will continue to develop its character with the guidance of the church at Parish and Diocesan level."

We aim to provide a happy, safe and stimulating environment in which children can:
  • find pleasure in learning and the acquisition of skills
  • develop enquiring minds, imagination, reasoned argument and logical thinking
  • gain respect for religious and moral values, valuing the variety and contributions of their own and other cultures
  • develop self motivation and self discipline.
