 Newsletter No8 - Autumn Term 2008

 Dear Parents,

As we approach the end of what seems like a long term (!) this newsletter starts with some thank you’s:

Christmas Tree - thank you to ‘Friendly Firs’ for their generous donation of our Christmas tree; if anyone would like our tree you’d be more than welcome.

Wreath – thank you to Mrs Hafner (mum of Josh Yr2) for kindly donating the beautiful Christmas wreath hanging in our front entrance,

Carol/Christmas songs for the W.I. & O.A.P.’s – thank you to Mrs Murrell and Mrs Norton for their help in walking the children to The Lee Parish hall,

and of-course we’d like to thank

The children – for their hard work at entertaining us at their fabulous performances (x 4!) in our Christmas play ‘All Around the World’ – we are very proud of them.

Party time! – We' are having a Christmas party on the last day of term, Friday 19th December. The children may wear their own clothes. Please do not bring reading folders or lunch boxes; a party lunch will be served (unless your child has a specific dietary requirement and you have pre-arranged lunch details with Mrs Lawes). We look forward to having lots of fun!

Early finish – A reminder that on the last day of term Friday 19th December after our party, school closes at 1:30pm for the Christmas break. Please ensure you have arrangements in place to collect your child at this earlier time.

Refuse - Over the Christmas break if anyone is going to the refuse tip, we have some items in our bin compound (small chairs, a gymnastic box in two halves etc) and we would very much appreciate your help in getting rid of these items.

Charity funds - £198.25 was raised from your kind donations for the ‘Hearing Dogs for Deaf People’ during our Christmas performances – thank you.

Christmas at The Lee ChurchJudy Hart writes:

Sunday 21st Traditional Candlelit carol service 6pm

Monday 22nd Carol singing 5.30pm. Meet at the Swan pub and finish with mince pies and mulled wine at the pub.

Wednesday 24th 4pm Discover the real meaning of Christmas at the crib service. Please wear any suitable nativity costumes if you have them or we can provide.

 Christmas day 10am Parish Communion

And finally,

School reopens for the Spring Term on Tuesday 6th January at 8:55am.

We wish you all a very peaceful Happy Christmas and New Year!

 Yours sincerely
